Bringing Joy to Pediatric Patients

At FlexCare, we’re driven by a mission to improve lives and help create the best experience in healthcare—and that commitment extends far beyond staffing. That’s why we’re so excited to share how our incredible clinicians recently joined forces with us to make a meaningful impact on pediatric patients at Dell Children’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas. 

As part of our holiday giving initiative, together with our clinicians we donated portable video game kiosks, specially designed for hospital settings by the Gamers Outreach Foundation, to bring joy to pediatric patients during their hospital stay. These gaming stations do more than provide entertainment—they offer a sense of normalcy, helping kids embrace the joy of play even while they’re in the hospital. 

What makes this donation even more special is that our clinicians played a hands-on role in selecting Dell Children’s Medical Center as the recipient. In September, we invited our clinicians to vote on the facility they wanted to support, and their overwhelming choice was Dell Children’s. Their decision was rooted in a desire to make the greatest impact, as this hospital serves a high percentage of uninsured or underinsured families—70%, to be exact. By choosing Dell Children’s, our clinicians ensured this donation would bring smiles and support to children and families who need it most. 

We’ve all heard that laughter is the best medicine, and the same goes for play. These gaming kiosks enhance the hospital experience by giving kids an outlet for creativity, connection, and fun. Beyond the immediate smiles they spark, the stations positively influence the healing process, lifting the spirits of both patients and their families as well as supporting medical teams who care for them.

This initiative is part of our broader commitment to giving back. By donating time, resources, and talent, we aim to create a ripple effect of positive change that goes beyond the day-to-day work of healthcare staffing. From improving the experience of pediatric patients to supporting hospitals in delivering exceptional care, we’re proud to help make a difference.
